Colorado Beer Distributors Celebrate Quality Jobs This Labor Day

Growing Economic Impact

DENVER – The Colorado’s Beer Distributors Association is celebrating the high quality jobs and positive economic impact provided by the industry this Labor Day.  Total jobs, wages and production have steadily increased over the last few years, making Colorado’s beer distributors a valuable part of their communities.

Key economic stats:

  • Colorado beer distribution facilities directly employ 2,792 people, who earn $245.4 million in wages and salaries.  These jobs include truck drivers, forklift operators, sales representative and graphic artists to name a few.
  • Colorado beer distributors add $1.5 billion to the nation’s gross domestic product.
  • Colorado beer distributor activities generate $3.3 million in economic impacts to communities through support of charities, local events and economic development.
  • Colorado beer distributor activities contribute $247.4 million to the federal, state and local tax bases. This does not include an added $135 million in federal, state and local alcohol excise and consumption taxes on beer sold in Colorado.
  • The Colorado beer distribution industry contributes more than $257 million in transportation efficiencies for the beer industry each year.

“Colorado’s beer distributors provide significant economic benefits in their communities through local business-to-business commerce, investments in local infrastructure, and capital assets and tax revenue,” said Steve Findley, executive director of CBDA.  “They are vital to the continued growth of the state’s beer industry and work hard every day to provide the greatest choice of beer anywhere in the nation.”
